I was listening to NPR yesterday on my commute, and this story grabbed my attention: Linguists Weigh Costs and Benefits of Accents
I recently completed a 4 month accent reduction course at work. Why would I want to lose my French accent when it is regarded as charming and delightful by most Americans?

Eh, oui, un peu d'accent, c'est comme pour la cuisine, plus il y a d'épices -forcément avec les bonnes proportions ,plus c'est bon ( par exemple le pudding )
et, à une récente visite dans un musée parisien, j'ai constaté que mes élèves écoutaient beaucoup mieux une conférencière qui avait un accent italien, car cela changeait d'une parole pour eux ronronnante
Et j'adore l'accent de Stephanie :-)
