Classic Christmas Toys

As far as we're concerned, this year's top toys are not fancy video games but rather hot wheels cars, baby dolls, and a Playmobil pirate ship.

Look at this picture that Constance dug up form the family photo albums. In 1982 (when I was 6), I got for Christmas... a Playmobil pirate ship! What a great toy! It hasn't changed at all in 25 years!!!

Awesome Helicopter Tour

Here's some footage of my first helicopter tour. It happened last week over the magnificent island of Kauai. We flew inside a crater, admired Waimea Canyon, the Napali coast, Hanalei bay and numerous waterfalls including the one featured in Jurassic Park.

I have to admit that I did not feel 100% safe all along...

18 months

Today is Elodie's half birthday ! No present for her, just a report on her recent speaking progress:
As I write this post, Elodie is sitting on the coach watching a Baby Einstein Video. It's the first time that she's shown so much interest in the television. Etienne is still sleeping... I'm sure that by the end of the summer the two of them will be fighting over which DVD they want to watch ;-)

Easter, Easter, Easter!

Easter is Mommy's favorite holiday, and this year, Etienne and Elodie got to celebrate it many times ! Have a look at last week's pictures:

Grandma also created a web page with the pictures she took at her party...

Last treat, a video of Elodie wearing her cute Eater outfit and picking eggs...

Toastmasters speech

This post has nothing to do with Elodie, but since a lot of people have been asking me what exactly I do at Toastmasters, I wanted to give you an example of the kind of skills we practice there.
This was my 5th speech in the club and it is entitled: I am not a monkey! It has 2 parts, approx. 3 minutes each.
Enjoy ! I'm sure you'll get a few laughs out of it ...

Here is the map that I describe in the second part of the speech:

I'm very proud to report that I won the Best Speaker award that night ;-)

UPDATE ON MARCH 23rd, 2007

4 months later, I gave the same speech at the area contest. Actually, not exactly the same speech. I think I improved it a lot. You can see for yourself:

Video Blog

I'm trying a new way to share Elodie's videos. Instead of simply uploading to her website, I'll try to include them directly in this blog:

So for my first attempt, here are Elodie and Alix playing on the grass in Neulette last month:

If you want to know how I did that, you can visit Nicolas' blog. Thanks dude !

A 4 minute video !

I've just uploaded a great video on Elodie's website. It's a compilation of the footage we took at the hospital. Ok, it's quite big (10 megs) but it's worth waiting a couple minutes to download...

If you're wondering why I chose this music, it's simply because it was playing on the radio when drove to the hospital last Thursday night, and Stephanie and I kept humming it for the next 48 hours !
